Self-taught Award-winning Artist

Derrick Antell Johnson was born, raised and educated in Baltimore, Maryland.
He could always be found drawing
to pass the time. Little did he know that his pastime
would become his passion and propelled him into
the cosmic conduit of funk which represents the
basis of his work today.

He started his first studio in 1970 named Wall Street Wall
Fashions. The emphasis was stretched fabric art which lead
to metal sculpture in the 1980's of Dantell Designs.

These early works evolved into Derrick's latest
brainchild, Stankin of today which produces
clox, metal sculpture, wearable art and funkiture.
The Stankin collection of abstract, handcrafted and
painted items can be best described as a visual
cornucopia of innovation, optical illusions and
iridescent illustrations. An unimaginable melody of
colors, patterns, textures and rhythms flow together
to create music for the eyes.
